Job Description

The role of a Software and System Requirement Engineer is to ensure that customer expectations are well understood, clearly documented, and efficiently communicated to all members of development teams involved in a project. In order to guarantee the success of the product development the Requirement Engineer must be pro-active and well organised all the time. Answers to technical questions do not come readily available. The Requirement Engineer must pursue those answers by organizing meetings and workshops with all stakeholders. They also should be able to coordinate such brainstorming activities and play the important role of an arbitrageur in order to keep the discussions productive and focused. And this is just a small part of the job. The abilities to analyze technical literature and drawings, maintain a vast amount of documentation, support system and software architecture development, drive clarifications and engineering solutions and to ensure deliveries within tight schedule are not a necessity, they are a must for the excellent Requirement Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Support full-time System and Software Requirement Engineers in requirements elicitation, analysis, documenting and maintaining a product specification.
  • Support the maintenance of existing project specifications according to project and/or automotive processes
  • Integrate/create and design new requirements modules from client input
  • Participate in requirements traceability management
  • Participate in external and internal reviews and clarifications with different domain experts (Software, Hardware, Mechanical, Test, etc.)
  • Support in documentation activities (SW and system requirements process, how-to documents)
  • Collaborate with all parties involved in the SW development process
  • Support Legal, Safety and Security concept and framework development
  • Support change and defect management activities (changes requests and defects analysis)

Qualifications

Qualifications, Strengths and Interests:

  • Currently enrolled in an academic engineering course or has successfully graduated one
  • Professional working English language proficiency
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to plan and organise work packages
  • Ability to learn in and adopt to a dynamically changing work environment
  • Interest in embedded devices software and hardware development and automotive products
  • Team player with a desire for building professional competency in software and automotive product development
  • Awareness of Standard Automotive Process (ASPICE) will be considered as a plus
  • German language will be considered as a plus
